Anti-Corruption Cooperation: Myanmar, Russia sign Memorandum of Understanding

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on anti-corruption cooperation between Myanmar's Anti-Corruption Commission and Prosecutor-General Office of the Russian Federation was signed on the 29th of June.

Chairman of the Anti-Corruption Commission Dr. Htay Aung arriving in Russia and Prosecutor-General Mr. Igor Krasnov signed the MoU and discussed the cooperation in anti-corruption issues.

This meeting also highlighted the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Myanmar and Russia in 2023, bilateral cooperation, efforts of Myanmar in fight against corruption in line with the Anti-Corruption Law enacted in 2013, advice of Prosecutor-General Office to revive the law and technical assistance in awareness programmes for students and youth integrity promotion programmes of the commission.

The MoU included holding of international discussion, conference and workshop to exchange information, good practices and experiences in anti-corruption activities, exchange of goodwill visit between two countries, legal advices, cooperation in asset recovery efforts, training courses, educating programmes for youths and anti-corruption research.
