Annual meeting: MoCRD Union Minister addressed DRRD annual meeting

The annual meeting of the Department of Rural Road Development was held at the Ministry of Cooperative and Rural Development, Nay Pyi Taw in the morning on June 9 with the attendance of Union Minister U Hla Moe and officials.

In his opening remark, the Union Minister U Hla Moe said the Department of Rural Road Development is implementing to link the road network prioritizing the requirement of the rural population. The efforts for the comprehensive development of the country and poverty alleviation are greatly depending on the easy and smooth rural road transportation.

So, the better rural road transportation plays the vital role. By upgrading rural roads and bridges, the education, health and socio-economic development of the rural population will be facilitated as well as increase of per capital income and the GDP of the country. Therefore, the Department of Rural Road Development needs to upgrade the rural roads and bridges and construct the new ones with the exerted efforts.

Next, the Director General of the Department of Rural Road Development and the head officers of Regions and States clarified the work implementations in related sectors.

The permanent secretary supplemented the tender rules, financial procedures and the set standards and other requirements.

In responding to the clarifications, the Union Minister U Hla Moe gave necessary instructions and fulfilled requirements.
