Annual General Meeting : MOH Union Minister attends the MCCPMD meeting

The 22nd Annual General Meeting of the Myanmar Chamber of Commerce for Pharmaceutical and Medical Device (MCCPMD) was held in Yangon on Saturday. Union Minister for Health Prof. Dr. Thet Khine Win attended the event and gave an opening speech.

The Union Minister said the Ministry of Health is working according to national policies to improve public healthcare, disease prevention, and health services. He praised the association for cooperating with the ministry to support the health needs of the public.

The Union Minister highlighted the association’s contributions during COVID-19, helping ensure smooth and timely import of medicines and medical supplies, stabilizing supply chains, and supporting price stability. He also expressed gratitude for the association’s assistance during natural disasters such as floods, Cyclones, and the Mandalay earthquake.

He added that the ministry is systematically reviewing and approving necessary import endorsements without delay, and only essential, beneficial medicines should be imported. He encouraged the association to expand local pharmaceutical manufacturing to reduce foreign currency outflow and eventually export quality products. He urged continuous cooperation with the Ministry of Health and adherence to national health policies.
