Announcement No. 3/2023: Announcement about natural disaster affected areas

The State Administration Council made the announcement No. 3/2023 on the 14th of July.

It states that according to the Section 11 of the Natural Disaster Management Law, the State Administration Council on the 15th of May 2023 declared Kyaukphyu, Myanaung, Yanbye, Ann, Sittwe, Pauktaw, Ponnagyun, Rathedaung, Gwa, Taungup, Thandwe, Maungdaw, Buthidaung, Kyauktaw, Minbya, Mrauk-U and Myebon townships of Rakhine State as the natural disaster affected areas as there were losses and damages due to the extremely severe cyclonic storm ‘MOCHA’.

It is time for the ongoing rehabilitation works under the leadership of the government to bring these townships back to their normal state, the townships were declared as the natural disaster affected areas for the second time according to the Section 26 of the Natural Disaster Management By-law from the 15th of July 2023 to the 14th of September 2023.

It is to speed up the rehabilitation works by sector. This announcement was signed by Chairman of the State Administration Council Senior General Min Aung Hlaing.
