Republic of the Union of Myanmar Ministry of Labour, Immigration and Population Directive for conducting surprise inspections on factories, workshops and workplaces

1. The Ministry of Health and Sports, the Ministry of Labour, Immigration and Population, and a combined team of experts began inspecting factories, workshops and workplaces starting from 20-4-2020 to check whether they are adhering to regulations and recommendations of the Ministry of Health and Sports to prevent COVID-19. Those that passed the inspections were allowed to reopen.
2. Initial inspection was not carried out at some workplaces, including private businesses with a small workforce, small-scale emerging businesses and household businesses. Small task groups consisting of officials from township-level committees for containment and emergency response against COVID-19 in Nay Pyi Taw Council and the states and regions worked together with the General Administration Department, MoLIP and MoHS to inspect the remaining workplaces starting from 16-5-2020.
3. Factories, workshops and workplaces are required to follow regulations and recommendations of the Ministry of Health and Sports for effective prevention against the spread of COVID-19. Similar task forces comprised with township-level committees against COVID-19, the GAD, MoLIP and MoHS will continue conducting surprise inspections to the workplaces for these regulations and recommendations.
