

2nd anniversary of founding the Myanmar Coast Guard was celebrated on Friday, with the attendance of Chairman of the State Administration Council Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing.
The Senior General said the Coast Guard is tasked to ensure maritime security and humanitarian assistance while carrying out for protecting marine economic benefits, rescue efforts and conservation of ocean environment.
He also stressed the need to make cooperative efforts with the neighbouring countries and regional countries, while making constant training for effective implementation of the tasks. He also recognized the work performance during two years term, and urged all to strive for becoming efficient and model troop.
Then, the honorary awards were presented to the outstanding members of Coast Guard. The Senior General also presented the honorary medal for performing the Coast Guard duty to the Director General of the Coast Guard who in turn presented the commemorative emblem of the anniversary.
After the ceremony, the Senior General heard reports on the work undertakings, and coordinated the needs. They then took a tour of the Coast Guard Headquarters, and viewed the operation process, display of booths and library. They also inspected the vessels used in the Coast Guard, and took a salute of the military officers and other ranks.
The Senior General and party also inspected the construction of Naung Yoe Purified Water Factory, agriculture and livestock breeding tasks and housing units.
