Anniversary Celebration: New Resort, Manaw Festival and Cultural Museum

Commemorating the 77th Anniversary Kachin State Day, the Ayeyawady Shu Khin Tha Resort was opened in Myitkyina on Thursday.

The opening ceremony saw the attendance of State Administration Council member, Deputy Prime Minister and Union Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office Admiral Tin Aung San, Council member Daw Dwe Bu, Union Ministers Lt-Gen Tun Tun Naung, U Maung Maung Ohn, U Min Naung, U Hla Moe, U Nyan Tun and Jeng Phang Naw Taung, Deputy Minister Daw Nu Mra Zan and officials.

The resorts features beautiful landscapes including Rubble Stone Square, traditional huts, bamboo bridge and floral decoration as well as the physical fitness area. Likewise, the Manaw Festival was opened to mark the 77th anniversary Kachin State Day.

Admiral Tin Aung San and party took part in the Manaw dance performance together with the attendees. The celebration also includes the display of booths on local agriculture and livestock products, ready-made foodstuff, traditional clothes, bamboo and rattan wares, culture and education galleries.

In addition, awards were presented to the winners of Fruit and Vegetable Competitions. Admiral Tin Aung San and part later attended the opening ceremony of Kachin State Cultural Museum’s new building. The first phase of the project was completed, with plans underway for extension along with the display of more booths and galleries. The first phase includes induction to Kachin State and display of Digital Museum. The new building is a two-storey facility, and it cost over 994 million kyat budget allotment by the Union in 2023-2024 fiscal year.
