Andrey Belousov, Russia's proposed new defence minister

Andrey Belousov, the economist chosen by Russian President Vladimir Putin as the country's new defence minister after the long-standing minister Sergei Shoigu was removed, according to a list of the ministerial nominations published by the Federation Council, Russia's upper house of parliament. Belousov has been one of Putin's most influential economic advisers over the last decade.
