








On 8th February, Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing attended the opening ceremony of the newly reconstructed Si Shay Bridge in Mandalay Region. Prior to the ceremony, Mandalay Region Development Minister, Mayor clarified the construction process.
Then, the Chief Minister U Myo Aung presented honorary gift to the Prime Minister. After ceremonial ribbon cut, the Prime Minister unveiled the stone inscription of the bridge and sprinkled scented water on it.
Then, the SAC Chairman Prime Minister and party made a tour along Si Shay Bridge, cordially greeted the local residents. Si Shay Bridge was originally constructed in 1221 Myanmar era along with the Mya Nan San Kyaw Golden Palace during the reign of King Mindon.
It is the main bridge for Western Exit of the Palace. The bridge was damaged during World War II. The reconstruction of the bridge was started in August 2024, keeping the original structure of the bridge, with long term resilience plan, under the guidance of the Prime Minister. As the bridge has fully reconstructed, the attribute of the national heritage Golden Palace is restored again.
