Americans to fill 6 of 7 board seats for TikTok's US operations

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said Americans would fill six of the seven board seats for US operations of Chinese-affiliated video sharing app TikTok. Leavitt made the remark in an interview with Fox News on Saturday. She also said TikTok's US operations would be majority-owned by Americans, who would also control the entity's algorithm.

She said its data and privacy would be led by US tech company Oracle. Trump earlier said he and Chinese President Xi Jinping had made progress on a deal for TikTok's US operations in a phone call on Friday.
