Amazon’s robot-powered fulfillment center in Brétigny, France, is operating at full capacity ahead of Christmas, processing up to one million parcels in 24 hours. The site, opened in 2019, combines human employees with 4,000 autonomous robots managed by artificial intelligence, which optimises storage and retrieval from 40,000 cabinets.

Daily parcel processing during peak periods rises by about 33% compared with off-peak times. Average cycle times at the facility are four hours from lorry arrival to stocking and two hours from picking to dispatch. Amazon uses AI to enhance both customer experience and workplace ergonomics.
