Alms food offering: PM offers day meal to religious title recipient Sayadaws

Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing and wife Daw Kyu Kyu Hla donated day meal to the Sayadaws who will receive religious titles for 2023 at the Sasana Beikman in the compound of Uppatasanti Pagoda in Nay Pyi Taw on Friday.

The ceremony was graced by 131 title recipient monks and 3 nuns from local and abroad led by Vice Chairman of the State Sangha Maha Nayaka Committee Koe Saung Taik Monastery Presiding Sayadaw Buddhanta Zotikapala and Vice Chairman of the State Sangha Maha Nayaka Committee Presiding Sayadaw of Thiho Pariyatti Monastery in Kyaukme Dr Buddhanta Sandana Thara, SAC Chairman Prime Minister and wife, SAC Vice Chairman Deputy Prime Minister Vice Senior General Soe Win and wife, the Council members and their wives, the Union Level Personnel, the Union Ministers, the Nay Pyi Taw Council Chairman, senior military officers and their wives, the Commander of Nay Pyi Taw Command and officials.

Before the ceremony, the Prime Minister donated alms food, fruits, flowers, water and lights to the Buddha image in the Sasana Beikman.

At the ceremony, the congregation led by the Prime Minister and wife took Five Precepts from the Vice Chairman of the State Sangha Maha Nayaka Committee Myingyan Sayadaw and members of the Sangha recited parittas.

The Prime Minister and wife then donated offertories to Myingyan Sayadaw, the deputy Prime Minister and wife to Thiho Pariyatti Monastery Presiding Sayadaw, the SAC members and departmental heads to the Sayadaws who will receive religious titles. Wives of the Prime Minister and the Deputy Prime Minister then donated offertories to the nuns who will receive religious titles.

The congregation then shared merits gained. After the ceremony, the Prime Minister and wife donated day meal to the title recipient Sayadaws and nuns from local and abroad who will be offered 2023 religious titles.
