Alms Food Offering Ceremony: Prime Minister offers day meal to Religious Title Recipients

Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister, Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, and wife Daw Kyu Kyu Hla, along with other dignitaries, presided over a ceremony at the Agga Dipadhipadi Sasana Beikmandawgyi in Nay Pyi Taw’s Buddha Park on Saturday.

The event, attended by 108 title recipient monks and 2 nuns from both local and international communities, was held to honor the recipients of religious titles for the year 2024. Before the ceremony commenced, the Prime Minister made offerings including alms food, fruits, flowers, water, and lights to the Buddha image in the Sasana Beikmandawgyi.

Subsequently, the congregation, led by the Prime Minister and wife, took the Five Precepts administered by the Chairman of the State Sangha Maha Nayaka Committee, Thanlyin Minkyaung Sayadaw. The Sangha members recited parittas during the ceremony.

Following the religious rituals, the Prime Minister and wife presented offerings to the Thanlyin Minkyaung Sayadaw, while the Vice Chairman of the State Administration Council Deputy Prime Minister Vice Senior General Soe Win and wife offered donations to the Secretary of the State Sangha Maha Nayaka Committee Masoeyein Taik Thit Sayadaw of Mandalay.

Additionally, Secretary, Joint Secretary and members of the State Administration Council and departmental heads made offerings to the Sayadaws who were to receive religious titles. The wife of the Prime Minister also made donations to the nuns set to receive religious titles.

The congregation concluded the ceremony by sharing the merits gained from the event. Subsequently, the Prime Minister and wife and attendees offered a day meal to the title recipient Sayadaws and nuns from both local and international communities who were to be bestowed with religious titles for the year 2024.
