All 267 rescued after ferry ran aground

A passenger ferry carrying 267 people ran aground on an island off the coast of Shinan-gun County, South Korea but all people including six children were rescued by the Coast Guard in just over three hours. A huge ferry is seen stranded in the middle of the sea. Its bow is stuck on the island.

A coast guard patrol boat approaches the ferry. Passengers wearing life vests are seen waiting for rescue. 8:16 p.m. local time Wednesday. The Korea Coast Guard found out in a preliminary investigation that while the ship was sailing through a section that requires manual navigation, its helmsman failed to switch from autopilot after being distracted by his mobile phone.
