

Algeria's President Abdelmadjid Tebboune has been re-elected with almost 95 percent of the vote, the country's electoral authority ANIE has announced.
Mohamed Charfi, the chairman of the Independent National Elections Authority (ANIE) said Tebboune's opponents moderate Islamist Abdelaali Hassani and socialist candidate Youcef Aouchiche respectively won 3.17 percent and 2.16 percent of the vote. Hassani heads the moderate Islamist party the Movement of Society for Peace and Aouchiche the centre-left Socialist Forces Front.
