Algeria to plant one million trees in 24 hours

Algeria launched a large-scale reforestation campaign aimed at planting one million trees across its territory in a single day to combat the effects of climate change and preserve the environment on Saturday. It is worth noting that all necessary conditions were put in place to ensure the success of this initiative, aimed at enhancing vegetation cover and promoting environmental awareness.

The process began with selecting tree species suited to the climate of each region, ensuring their healthy growth and long-term sustainability. Fires have ravaged nearly 140,000 hectares of vegetation over two years (between 2021 and 2023) in northern Algeria.
