ALAWMM in Manila: MoLA UM and UAG attended the meeting

The Myanmar delegation, led by Union Minister for Legal Affairs and Union Attorney-General Dr. Thida Oo, attended the 13th ASEAN Law Ministers Meeting (ALAWMM) held in Manila, Philippines, from November 13 to 15, 2025.

Separately, the Myanmar delegation led by Deputy Minister and Deputy Attorney-General Dr. Htein Lin Oo attended the 24th ASEAN Senior Law Officials Meeting (ASLOM) held from November 10 to 13, 2025. The 13th ASEAN Law Ministers Meeting (ALAWMM) was held in Manila, Philippines, from November 13 to 15, 2025.

The Myanmar delegation, led by Union Minister for Legal Affairs and Union Attorney-General Dr. Thida Oo, attended the meeting. At the meeting, Mr. Ferdinand Romualdez Marcos Jr., President of the Republic of the Philippines, delivered the opening address.

The meeting was attended by Ministers of Justice/Legal Affairs and Attorneys-General from ASEAN Member States, the ASEAN Secretary-General, senior law officials from ASEAN countries, and officials from the ASEAN Secretariat.

During the meeting, Union Minister and Union Attorney-General Dr. Thida Oo stated that collaborating on legal matters is an important process for strengthening the rule of law and peace and stability in the ASEAN region.

She also mentioned that the exchange of legal information and legal cooperation among countries is a key platform in the field of international and regional legal affairs etc. Furthermore, the 1st ASEAN-Japan Ministers of Justice/Attorneys-General Meeting was subsequently held, attended by the ASEAN-Japan Ministers of Justice/Attorneys-General and the ASEAN Secretary-General.

At this meeting, the Union Minister and Union Attorney-General participated in discussions on ASEAN-Japan legal matters. Prior to the 13th ASEAN Law Ministers Meeting, the related 24th ASEAN Senior Law Officials Meeting (ASLOM) was held in Manila, Philippines, from November 10 to 13, 2025.

The Myanmar delegation, led by Deputy Minister and Deputy Attorney-General Dr. Htein Lin Oo, attended the meeting, where the Deputy Minister and Deputy Attorney-General participated in the discussions. The Myanmar delegation also attended the Working Group on Trade Law Consistency meeting held on November 10, 2025, it’s learnt.
