



The 12th Traditional Akar swinging ceremony was held at UphuDae village, MongHsat district in Shan State (East) on Thursday.
The ethic head U Nyo Min explained about the swinging event and Shan State Chief Minister Dr KyawTun, the Triangle Region Command Commander, the State Ministers and officials formally opened the ceremony. In commemoration of the ceremony, the State Chief Minister, the Commander and officials planted cherry saplings at the ArHsaw Paw Moe basic education post primary school.
The State Chief Minister also presented 1 million kyats cash assistance provided by Shan State Government for the school to the principal. It was followed by the second session of the cremony and the State Chief Minister gave a speech.
The State Chief Minister also presented 10 million kyats contributed by Shan State Government for the swinging ceremony to the ethnic people and they returned gift to the Chief Minister. The Commander of Triangle Region Command also presented cash for the ceremony to the officials who gave in turn commemorative gift.
The ethnic head U Min Nyo expressed thanks and presented commemorative gifts to the guests. At the event, Akar ethnic people entertained with traditional dances.
