




Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, together with officials, inspected upgrading works of Tachileik Airport and its runway on Saturday.
After hearing the report, the Prime Minister gave instructions to make preparation measures for further upgrading works in order to land large aircrafts.
He also stressed the need to complete the construction works within the targeted time. He instructed to carry out clearing works constantly for cleaning of the airport environs, to make sign posts for the downtown lanes, and to maintain the traffic rules systematically.
He also said that action has to be made for installing vehicle plate numbers systematically since the educative period completed. He also instructed for cleaning and beautifying works, systematic storage of rain water and water sources for sufficient supply of drinking water, encouraging livestock and fish breeding works and MSME industry, promoting border trade and boosting local production.
He reiterated that it is necessary to make systematic documentation of the visitors to Tachileik by cars and by planes. Tachileik Airport has been closed for about 20 days in March and April due to the smoke by burning hilly farms in Shan State (East).
The Prime Minister stressed the need to supervise for burning hilly farms, and to initiate the implementation of highland farming system. He urged the local administrative body to make systematic supervision. The Prime Minister and party later inspected the upgrading works of airport runway and airport building.
