Airport Garden: Opening ceremony held in Myitkyina to mark the Kachin State Day

In honour of the 75th anniversary Diamond Jubilee Kachin State Day which will fall on 10th January, the NanPaung Airport Garden was opened in the compound of Airport in Myitkyina on Sunday.

Members of the State Administration Council U Maung Har, U Sai Lone Hsai, U Shwe Kyein, Union Ministers for Border Affairs Lt-Gen Tun Tun Naung, Union Minister for Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation U Hla Moe and Commander of Northern Command Maj-Gen Ko Ko Maung formally opened the airport garden, while member of the State Administration Council U Jeng Phang Naw Taung and Chief Minister U Khet Htein Nan unveiled the signboard.

The SAC members, the Union Ministers and party later viewed round the airport garden. The 75th anniversary Diamond Jubilee Kachin State Day celebration will be opened on 9th January with the performance of Manaw Dance. Myanmar traditional Letwei Challenge Fight will also be held in commemoration of the Kachin State Day.

On the 10th, the Kachin State Day will be celebrated with the reading out of messages, performance of traditional Manaw Dance, opening of booths of the departments and local products, sports competitions, presenting honorary medals and certificates to those outstandingly performed duties for the development of the state and oepning of 10-lane swimming pool.
