AI-powered surgical robot makes debut in Viet Nam

In Viet Nam, AI-powered surgical robot for surgery was already approved for patients’ knee and hip replacements. It marked a significant milestone for this patient who admitted at a hospital in Ho Chi Minh City after more than a decade of limited mobility.

She was also among the first patients in Viet Nam to undergo surgery using the CUVIS-Joint robotic system. The AI-assisted technology enables highly precise bone cutting, which helps minimize surgical impact and reduce damage to surrounding tissue, leading to faster recovery. Despite using advanced systems for joint replacement globally, the procedure costs around one-tenth of similar surgeries overseas in Viet Nam.
