AI-powered drones scan German forests to detect wildfires

A German company said it has developed the first AI-powered autonomous wildfire detection drones to help combat wildfires that have become increasingly common with climate change.

CEO of Dryad Networks said “they could also provide information about the size and exact location of the source of the fire to the fire brigade, who can then react much more efficiently and quickly and prevent a catastrophe”. He also explained that "they are seeing more and more forest fires, which are unfortunately very much driven by the effects of climate change."
