Agriculture Sector: Restoration work for damage to the agriculture sector

Union Minister for Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation U Min Naung attended a coordination meeting on the restoration work on the damage to the agricultural sector in Rakhine State due to the cyclone “Mocha” at the meeting hall of the Union Minister's Office of the Ministry on 17th May.

He stressed the needs to collect the accurate data of the damage to agricultural activities, and to use temporary buildings, to renovate the buildings in priorities. He also discussed to be readied for distribution of the seeds, although the amount of crop damage due to the storm is less, there is a possibility of damage to the seeds to be planted during the rainy season.He also said that it is needed to fulfill the livelihood of staff and their families and to provide the school textbooks and uniforms for the students. The Deputy Minister and attendees later reported the work activities, and the Union Minister instructed the requirements.
