Agriculture Sector: Provision of paddy seeds and natural fertilizer

Ceremonies on providing paddy seeds and natural fertilizer and green manure adding demonstration were held at the DockYack (East) village in ChaungSone township on 17th June with the attendance of Mon State Chief Minister U Aung Kyi Thein and State Ministers.

On the occasion, the State Chief Minister said that cultivation with the use of green manure can keep the moisture in the soil and improve the soil structure. The yield of cultivated crop will also be increased if the top-soil and soil quality is good.

As Mon State is an agro-based one, it is necessary to expand the farmland areas and to cultivate the quality paddy seeds. He added that crop production can be increased only when the crop can get nutrient sufficiently and farmers need to follow the techniques of producing and using natural fertilizer provided by the agriculture department.

And, head of the department of agriculture reported on plans to cultivate and produce the monsoon paddy for 2023-24. In his response, the State Chief Minister supplemented the needs.

Next, the State Chief Minister and state ministers provided paddy seeds and natural fertilizers to 113 farmers, observed the green manure adding demonstration. They then cordially greeted the farmers and coordinated the needs on their reports.
