Agriculture Sector: Magway Region Gov’t holds coordination meeting 6/2024

Magway Region Government held the coordination meeting 6/2024 at the regional Government office. In the meeting, Chief Minister U Tint Lwin said that Magway Region has many resources to carry out agricultural activities successfully.

It’s found that cotton, peanuts and sesame are mainly cultivated. In order to increase the yield in the Region, all need to carry out systematic measures. The Chief Minister also stressed the importance of strains, land, water and techniques in carrying out agricultural activities. Solar-powered system should be implemented regionally for irrigation.

Regarding crop yields, there is still a need to meet the target. If the target of oil crops can be achieved, Magway Region will be able to earn a lot of income, the Chief Minister added. And, attendees made discussions on matters including acceleration of production of oil crops(peanut, sesame and sunflower) in Magway, Chauk, Aunglan, Minbu and Thayet districts. Then, implementation of the decisions made in the coordination meeting 5/2024was presented.
