Agriculture Sector: Extended cultivation of sunflower and green manure

Mon State Chief Minister U Aung Kyi Thein visited Sunflower Model Plantation in Kalabi Village of Chaungzone Township on Saturday. In meeting with farmers, the Chief Minister urged them to strive for extended cultivation of oil crops as the government is providing necessary agricultural techniques and inputs including quality species and fertilizers. After the meeting, the Chief Minister oversaw the thriving of sunflower plantations in the village. On arrival at Nat Hmaw Village, the Chief Minister inspected extended cultivation of green manure plantations for making fertilizer , and instructed for widely use of natural fertilizer.
