Agriculture & Livestock Sector: Deputy Minister Makes Inspections in Ayeyawaddy

Deputy Minister for Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation Dr. Aung Gyi inspected the egg-laying duck breeding farm and the distribution of ducklings in Pule Village, Phyapon Township, Ayeyawaddy Region.

During the inspection, the Deputy Minister stressed pest and disease outbreaks, adverse weather conditions, environmental cleanliness, infectious disease-free status of workers and small-scale farming operations. Following this, the Deputy Minister inspected a hybrid rice seed production farm in Kyonta Village of Phyapon Township, met with local farmers and emphasized on the complete provision of seed, soil, water, and technology, food safety and security and reduction of the use of chemical fertilizers and pesticides.

Also, the Deputy Minister inspected the operations of the Maubin Paper Mill, the Jute Sorting and Production Factory (Maubin) and the entire process of paddy cultivation, production, milling, processing, manufacturing, export, and sale in Danuphyu Township. And, he held discussions with concerned officials to carry out the duties in accordance with the terms and conditions specified in the original agreement contracts.
