






Deputy Minister for Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation held a meeting with the Myanmar Fisheries Federation in Insein Township of Yangon.
In this meeting, the Deputy Minister called for cooperation on activities related to the prevention of the use of fishing methods that harm the natural ecosystem and the destruction of Myanmar's water resources.
He also urged the Federation to double the production of fish and shrimp farming in order to replenish the depleted fish resources and ensure that the public can eat nutritious fish food.
It is necessary for the businessmen to strictly comply with the safety of consumers and the quality of exports, and to ensure that there is no harm to the environment and to widen the practice of Good Aquaculture (GAqP) practices, the Deputy Minister added.
After the meeting, he visited a factory in Gyogone of Insein Township to observe fish and shrimp storage, freezing and export operations processes and gave necessary instructions.
The Deputy Minister also held a meeting the regional level officials in the agriculture sector at the Irrigation and Water Utilization Management Department on Pyay Road.
There, he called for efforts to develop the MSME sector and promote the private sector investment for the improvement of the country's net production value based on the agricultural sector.
