Agriculture Development: Meeting with local farmers in Shwe Taung Township

Deputy Minister for Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation Dr. Tin Htut  met with the local farmers in Gyo Gone village tract of Shwe Taung Township in Bago region yesterday.

During the meeting, the Deputy Minister discussed to change the usage of high quality seedling based on the situations of soil and climatic conditions.

He added that the farmers need to cooperate in seeding production to be able to use sufficiently and to strive to be successful as seeds producers. He said the Ministry is providing the necessary technology and assistance.

The Deputy Minister and party later inspected the 100 acres of summer paddy plantations.  Afterwards, the Deputy Minister and party visited Pwe Pyae High quality seedling farm of Department of Agriculture in Thae Kone Township and discussed to promote the local purebred production through the cooperation among the department, private sector and farmers.

Similarly, the Deputy Minister inspected the Research Central of Paddy Division in Letpadan and stressed the needs to make cooperation among the departments.

In the evening, the Deputy Minister and party inspected work undertakings at Myanmar Rice Research Center in Hmawby Township of Yangon Region.
