Agriculture Development: 100- acre model paddy field in Myitkyina inspected

Kachin State Government has been carrying out the development process of the agriculture sector for boosting production and socio-economic development of the farmers. On 17th July, Chief Minister U Khet Htein Nan made an inspection at 100 acres model plot in Man Khein Ward, Myitkyina.

During the inspection, the Chief Minister and departmental officials inspected the arrangements for monsoon paddy plantation and status of plounghing sown green manure. They also discussed arrangements for distribution of Sin Akari-3 pedigree species to yeild 100 baskets per acre.

Then, the Chief Minister and party inspected the dredging of 2,000 feet long drainage around the model plot and ploughing in the paddy field by using tractors. Then, the Chief Minister gave necessary instructions on cultivation of oil crops and fencing around the plantation to prevent cattles from entering to the paddy fields.
