Agriculture and Livestock: Vice Senior General tours in Yangon Region

Vice Chairman of the State Administration Council Deputy Prime Minister Vice Senior General Soe Win visited the Taikkyi Livestock Breeding Zone in Yangon Region on Wednesday.

Chief Minister U Soe Thein reported on work undertakings of the companies and breeding condition as well as the access of transportation, electricity and water supply. The Vice Senior General instructed for successful implementation of the zone to support the food sufficiency in the region.

He also emphasized the precautious measures for bio-security to prevent from disease outbreak, sufficient supply of animal feeds, disaster preparedness plan, and loan disbursement. The Vice Senior General and party later toured around the livestock breeding zone.

Established in September 2024, the Taikkyi Livestock Zone is being implemented on the land plot with more than 2,100 acres. At present, various cattle and poultry farms along with the fish breeding farms are engaging in the zone.

They then proceeded to No.4 Integrated Farm of Yangon Region Command and heard reports on work undertakings of agriculture and livestock breeding tasks and sales of the produces with reasonable prizes. The Vice Senior General instructed to prioritize for welfare of the public without focusing on profit, and drafting plans for boosting production. They then took a tour of No.4 and No.3 Integrated Farms, visiting the dairy cow farms, piggery and duck farm.
