Agriculture and Livestock Sector: Efforts to extend the fish production in Sagaing

During the fiscal years of 2022-2023, the target of fish production and consumption has met at more than 67,000 tons in Sagaing Region, according to an official of Fisheries Department of Sagaing Region. 

There are 3 different kinds of fish production and more than 500 inn of fish farming in Sagaing Region. Also, MSMEs businesses from ShweBo, Katha, Htigyaing and Home Malin Townships have been producing and export the marine products to China and India through the local market.

The development of fishery sector can reduce poverty, create job opportunities for the people and support local food sufficiency.
