




The Agricultural Department, operating under the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, and Irrigation, is currently conducting laboratory tests for soil, input water, and fertilizer at 18 facilities. Among these, 10 are region and state-level laboratories, while 8 are at the district level.
On January 27th, Deputy Minister Dr. Aung Gyi conducted an inspection at the Main Laboratory in Yangon, located at the Land Use Division in Insein Township.
During the inspection, Deputy Minister Dr. Aung Gyi emphasized the importance of sharing technology and knowledge regarding the findings of lab tests on soil, water, fertilizer, and plants. He also underscored the need to establish a broad network with global and national soil laboratories to enhance the capacity of the staff.
Following the laboratory visit, Deputy Minister Dr. Aung Gyi toured cold storage factories, overseeing the freezing process of fishery products destined for export to regional countries and Europe.
In the evening, a meeting took place where the Deputy Minister engaged with personnel from Region, District, and Township-level departments at the Yangon Region Fishery Department.
The discussion focused on ensuring the sustainability of fisheries resources, collecting high-quality fishery data and statistics, and implementing systematic fishery management practices to avoid harming the eco-system.
