Agricultural sector: MoALI Union Minister inspected agricultural research farms

The Union Minister for Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation U Min Naung met with the responsible persons of Shwe Myo extended livestock breeding zone in Tatkone Township in the morning on May 8.

First, the Union Minister heard the clarifications on the implementation of Biosecurity Level 2 Diagnostic Laboratory, the work status of new Biosecurity Level 3 Diagnostic Laboratory to be constructed, the Union Fund construction projects in Shwe Myo livestock breeding zone in 2023-2024 fiscal year and the works to access water.

The deputy minister and director general of Irrigation and Water Utilization Management Department clarified the collaboration of related departments to harmonize the livestock breeding and treatments for the development of agriculture and livestock breeding sectors and a land chosen to construct the reservoir dam.

In responding to the clarifications, the Union Minister gave necessary instructions. Next, the union minister and deputy minister inspected implementations of Biosecurity Level 2 Diagnostic Laboratory and the pre workplace training of livestock breeding and veterinary department.

Then, the union minister and party inspected work implementations of Tatkone agricultural research farm and the responsible officials clarified. In the clarifications, the Union Minister instructed necessary matters.

Then, the union minister and party also inspected hybrid sunflower research works, display of seeds samples, plantation of hybrid sunflower, ground preparation for the plantation of new long staple cotton strain imported from Uzbekistan and the director general of agricultural research department explained about the implementations.
