Agricultural sector development: MoALI Union Minister met with the officials in Monywa

In the efforts for the prosperity and food security of the country and the socio-economic development of the people, the agriculture and livestock breeding play the vital role.

The levels of responsible persons involving in the effort for the development of agricultural sector need to have insight knowledge on the agricultural policies, laws and regulations, responsibilities of the ministry and serve the assigned duties beneficially, said, the Union Minister for Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation U Min Naung at the meeting with the region, district, township level agricultural sector responsible officials at the office of region agriculture department head officer in Monywa, Sagaing Region on 17th March.

During the meeting, the region minister for security and border affairs Col. Win Tin Soe and the officials from the respective departments clarified the implementation of seasonal cultivation in the region, status of livestock breeding, capacity of utilizating irrigation water, leveling up the double crops scheme, achieving target outputs of major 10 crops, regional food sufficiency and development of producing agricultural-based finished products, seeds producing industry and the collaboration among the department, farmers and private entrepreneurs in the applied research works. In responding to the clarifications, the Union Minister gave necessary instructions.

Next, the Union Minister U Min Naung inspected the agricultural knowledge dissemination booths of Sagaing Region.
