Agricultural Development: Sunflower harvest at KyarPhyu Village

Deputy Minister for Cooperatives and Rural Development U Myint Soe visited Kyar Phyu Village in Wakema Township of Ayeyawady Region on Sunday to observe the harvesting of sunflower. ShweKyarPhyu (1) Agriculture Cooperative Association cultivated the pilot plantation in November 2023, using Russian fertilizer.

The plantation was harvested on 18th February, yielding 72 baskets per acre for raw harvest and 68 baskets for dried harvest. They achieved this yield per acre by mixing the seeds for one acre plantation with 50 CC liquid fertilizer and spraying water mixed with 30 CC liquid fertilizer twice while the plants were thriving. Additionally, 1 and a half bags of Urea fertilizer and half a bag of compound fertilizer were used.
