Agricultural Development: Magwe Region Government holds a meeting

A work coordination meeting for the acceleration the agriculture capacity in Magway Region (7/2023) was held at the Region government office with the attendance of Magway Region Chief Minister U Tint Lwin.

Speaking on the occasion, the Cheif Minister said that in order to improve the agriculture sector of the region and to exceed the set target, planting 10 major crops are being prioritized. As the usage of the compound fertilizers need to be reduced due to high cost, the concerned officials are encouraged to educate farmers and growers to use suitable fertilizers.

In order to increase the yielding rate and to expand plantations, the officials are encouraged to focus on providing required technologies for multi crop planting and condcuting field organizings. To be able to supply water sufficiently into farmalnds in dry season, preparations are required to undertake in timely manner.

As the region government is accelerating the production of 10 major crops and oil crops for the self sufficiency, everyone is encouraged to participate in the development processes, he added. Then, Regional Minister for Security and Border Affairs Colonel Kyaw Kyaw Lin clarified the implementation tasks for improving agriculture capacity.

Then, the officials continued discussions on the decisions drafted from the coordination meeting (6/2023) and the Chief Minister coordinated the requirements.
