Agricultural Development : Harvesting of model field and meeting with farmers

Magway Region Chief Minister U Tint Lwin visited a model paddy field in Lae Hla Kone  Village of Pwint Phyu Township on November 22.

He observed the harvesting process of the 2-acre model plot and met with farmers from 11 nearby village-tracts. During the meeting, the Chief Minister encouraged farmers to work closely with relevant departments to improve yield per acre, follow correct farming methods, use inputs on time, and aim for consistent three-season cultivation to increase income.

Local farmers also presented their needs, for irrigation water, expansion of school buildings, and improvement of village roads. The Chief Minister responded that necessary measures will be coordinated with respective departments, and urged villages to form farmer production groups to help create better market opportunities and stable crop prices.

He added that Pwint Phyu Township, having access to dam water, should work to achieve targeted yields in summer, monsoon, and winter crops for better productivity and farmer income.
