Agricultural Capacity Building : Coordination meeting held in Magway Region

On July 1, the Magway Region Government held the Agricultural Capacity Building Coordination Meeting at the Regional Government Office to improve the agricultural sector, focusing on 10 major crops.

Chief Minister U Tint Lwin highlighted efforts to increase crop production capacity, expand intercropping, and achieve targeted yields. In the 2024-2025 season, over 6 million acres of crops were cultivated, with plans to plant over 6.5 million acres in 2025-2026. As of June 30, significant progress has been made in planting various crops, achieving 75.65% of the target area, which is higher than the previous year.

Despite challenges from continuous rain causing flooding and damage to some fields, the region is committed to replanting and maximizing land use for the upcoming planting seasons. The Chief Minister urged all to make closed cooperation for development of agricultural sector.
