




Union Minister for Cooperatives and Rural Development U Hla Moe on Friday met with members of cooperative associations involved in monsoon paddy cultivation within the catchment area of Madan Dam, in Lewe Township of the Nay Pyi Taw Council area.
During the meeting, officials provided updates on the distribution of irrigated water and the progress of monsoon paddy planting. The Union Minister emphasized the government's and relevant departments' commitment to assisting with land excavation and providing technical support. He encouraged farmers to approach their farming endeavors with enthusiasm and a strong desire for self-improvement.
Then, the Union Minister and party visited Pauk Taw Village in Deckhina Thiri Township. There, they observed the implementation of basic and advanced sewing training courses aimed at enhancing the income-generating potential of rural women.
Upon completion of the training, five selected trainees will receive sewing machines and related equipment worth 1 million kyats each, enabling them to establish their sewing businesses. Additionally, five outstanding trainees will be awarded irons and tables.
They later proceeded to Nyaung Kone Village, where they assessed pig and goat breeding farms. The Union Minister emphasized the importance of conducting vaccinations to prevent diseases among the pigs on these farms.
