Agri-Economic Development: Meeting on urea fertilizer purchasing & distribution

A work coordination meeting of the Urea fertilizer purchasing and distribution steering committee  was held on Friday.

In his capacity as the chairman of the steering committee, Union Minister for Cooperatives and Rural Development U Hla Moe attended the meeting, and made a speech. He stressed that the committee is making exerted efforts in providing qualified agricultural inputs to the farmers in time with reasonable prices. He pointed out that while implementing the projects initiated by State Economic Production Fund, it’s important to provide necessary technology assistance and services to the farmers.

It’s also important to accelerate import substitution industrialization while creating symbiotic relationship between entrepreneurs and farmers, he added. Then, the Deputy Minister, secretary of the steering committee, Permanent Secretary and the attendees made sector-wise discussions.

Then, the Union Minister supplemented the discussions and called on local food sufficiency, promoting nation’s economy by increasing export volume and ensuring Urea fertilizer market stabilization for the development of the agricultural economy.
