Afghanistan quake -donation

Rescue efforts were still underway on Tuesday, three days after the deadly 6.3 magnitude earthquake in Herat province in Afghanistan. Zinda Jan district was particularly hard-hit. Hundreds of houses were completely destroyed in the quakes.

Aid organizations including Afghanistan and Iran Red Crescent Society are assisting in distributing aid. Appeals for donations have gone out to people countrywide. One drop off point in Herat city had on Tuesday collected some donations made by members of the public, who are themselves struggling to make ends meet.
