Drone images captured on Monday showed the destruction caused by mass flooding in the Democratic Republic of Congo's Kalehe Territory, where more than 400 people died and thousands are still missing.

While residents and rescuers continued looking for survivors and victims, others received treatment at the local hospital where doctors took care of dozens of injured people with the few supplies they had.

Bauma Gola Mikela, the medical director of Nyamukubi Hospital, said his facility did not have enough resources to treat every patient and some had to be evacuated to Bukavu, with the support of Doctors Without Borders. According to the local authorities, at least 404 bodies were recovered from the areas affected in Bushushu and Nyakumubi. The Congolese government declared Monday a national day of mourning.
