Aerial waterbombers battle large Australian bushfire

Australian firefighters drop water on large out-of-control bush fire as crews had controlled pockets of the blaze burning in Australian bush land near the town of Narrabri about 400 kilometers northwest of Sydney.

Authorities downgraded the fire from emergency level warning to watch-and-act level on Tuesday afternoon as rain fell on the northern end of the fire. Earlier they had warned locals to shelter in their homes as crews fought to protect properties.
