The Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, and Irrigation is dedicated to enhancing crop yields and quality to ensure local food sufficiency, provide nutrition, bolster socio-economic livelihoods in rural areas, and drive national economic progress. To this end, the Agricultural Products Analytical Laboratory was inaugurated in the compound of Agricultural Institute in Nay Pyi Taw Pyinmana on Sunday, commemorating the 77th Anniversary Union Day.

Union Minister U Min Naung emphasized the importance of accelerating food safety measures, citing the new facility's capability to provide international standard lab services. The laboratory will play a pivotal role in issuing recognition certificates for export items compliant with Maximum Residue Limits (MRL) and supporting the issuance of Good Agriculture Practice Certificates.

Utilizing Liquid Chromatography and Inductively Coupled Plasma Spectrometry, the laboratory will conduct comprehensive tests to ensure crops meet quality standards, including nutrition, freshness, and freedom from toxins harmful to human health.

While the Agricultural Products Analytical Laboratory was initially established in Yangon, the commencement of operations in Nay Pyi Taw marks a significant expansion. Plans are underway to further extend this vital facility to Mandalay, enhancing agricultural standards nationwide.
