Activity of Energy Sector: Meeting on implementing work and ongoing plans

A meeting on reviewing work implementations done during 2022-23 fiscal year and ongoing work plans to carry out in 2023-24 fiscal year was held in Nay Pyi Taw on Tuesday. Union Minister for Energy U Myo Myint Oo attended the meeting and gave the opening remark.

In his remark, the Union Minister said that the ministry’s main tasks are supervising and licensing for the works in oil and natural gas sector development, and the collaborative efforts are needed among the departments and draft standard energy policies, visions and procedures by inviting investments and technologies from local and international.

In doing so, yearly work reviews are important. So, it is needed to review the works done in 2022-23 FY and implement the further works to be done in 2023-24 FY. He added that as monsoon is coming, natural disaster preparation measures are needed to carry out in advance not to loss state owned properties and fire safety measures are to be strictly monitored for work site safety in oil and natural gas sector.

Next, permanent secretary of the ministry, directors general and managing directors from relevants departments reported work implementation in 2022-23 FY and further work plans for 2023-24 FY on which the deputy minister made discussion and the Union Minister instucted the needs.
