Activities for Theatrical Arts: Meeting with members of Myanmar Theatrical Association (Central)

Union Minister for Religious Affairs and Culture U Ko Ko met executive members including Chairman of Myanmar Theatrical Association (Central) in Nay Pyi Taw on Monday and discussed the current implementations of the Association.

At the meeting, the Union Minister said that Myanmar Theatrical Association was established in 1945 and it has been the only Association serving for the benefits of art associations in Myanmar till today.

During COVID-19, the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Culture helped to provide humanitarian assistance of the State Administration for members of the Myanmar Theatrical Association (Central) and Myanmar Artists Organization.

Similarly, a total of over 4.4 billions were disbursed from the COVID loan for 882 enterprises of Myanmar Theatrical Association as the State’s loan for the living of members of the Association during COVID-19.

Now, it has been reported to the Working Committee to address the Impact of COVID-19 on the National Economy to extend the loan repayment term by 1 year.

The Union Minister urged officials of the central committee including the Chairman of Myanmar Theatrical Association to discuss the future programs of the Association and matters that can be helped in accord with the procedures of the Ministry.

Later, Chairman of Myanmar Theatrical Association (Central) U Phoe Chit and officials reported activities that are being carried out for the benefit of dramatic artists and future work programs on which the Union Minister, the Deputy Minister and the Director General of the Fine Arts Department discussed the requirements.

In the closing remarks, the Union Minister said that the Myanmar Theatrical Association needs to continue to conduct research and creativities on the theatrical arts in line with the current age.
