








Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing visited the University of Information Technology under the Ministry of Science and Technology in Hlaing Township on Friday.
During the visit, the Prime Minister heard reports on the university's transformation from the University of Computer Studies (Yangon), its history, academic structure and the use of technology in teaching, the selection of scholars for postgraduate courses, student attendance by region and state, technology-based teaching and learning management systems, job opportunities for students and the university's participation in the International Conference on Advanced Information Technologies (ICAIT).
Union Minister for Science and Technology Dr. Myo Thein Kyaw then provided additional details. Upon the reports, the Prime Minister instructed continued nation-beneficial teaching and necessary measures to uphold the university’s characteristics. He then toured the university and oversaw the digital library system, learning management system, AI-based teaching, practical sessions in the K-LAB and the construction of academic support classrooms.
The Prime Minister and party later proceeded to the West Yangon Technological University (WYTU) in Hlaingthaya Township.
Upon arrival, the Rector reported on the work completion as per the instructions of the Prime Minister’s 2024 inspection tour, the construction of new buildings and roads, university boundary definition, master plan for a recreation center and improvements to the campus environ.
The Prime Minister instructed necessary measures for the upcoming academic years and peaceful student learning. He also reviewed the completion status of the new three-story main building, construction of classrooms, an auditorium and an athletic stadium.
During the visit to Bayintnaung Park, the Prime Minister heard reports on the completed tasks from the Chief Minister and the Mayor.
The Prime Minister instructed systematic action plans for township beautification, creating a suitable social environment, efforts to become standardized township and continued urban development efforts. He also oversaw drain excavation measures in the township.
