Academic Tour : MOE Union Minister visits academic institutions

Union Minister for Education Dr Chaw Chaw Sein, together with officials, visited Yangon University on Saturday, to inspect ongoing campus cleanliness and beautification works. Yangon City Development Committee’s Deputy Mayor U Nyi Nyi and staff, along with university staff, were carrying out garbage cleaning, drainage clearing, and tree-pruning activities.

The Union Minister encouraged the participants and provided the needs. Later, the Union Minister proceeded to No. (3) Basic Education High School, Bago to attend a University Entrance Exam Achievement Improvement Workshop.

During the event, the Union Minister explained that such workshops are held annually to help improve Grade-12 exam results and urged teachers to work hard for their students’ success. She highlighted that teaching techniques will continue to be explained and supported, and educational lessons will also be broadcast on the Myanmar Education Channel.

Afterwards, the Union Minister met with teachers at No. (2) Basic Education High School, Bago, and emphasized the importance of collective effort to improve Grade-12 exam performance. At Bago University, she met with the rector, pro-rector, and department heads, urging them to prepare the campus for reopening, maintain a clean and pleasant environment, and provide proper academic guidance for new university students.

She also called for university activities to reflect traditional cultural values and encouraged promoting sports and nurturing talented student athletes. The Union Minister then inspected university buildings, halls, and student activity areas.

In the afternoon, she visited West Yangon University, where she met with university faculties about maintaining campus cleanliness and preparing for the reopening of schools. She discussed opportunities for students who did not pass Grade-12, including the possibility of opening vocational training courses. The visit concluded with inspections of the university lake, sports grounds, and library.
