Abhidhamma Day Ceremony: Yangon Region CM attended the ceremony

A ceremony marking Abhidhamma day and the successful completion of offering alms food to the Members of Sangha during three months of Buddhist lent was held at the ancient Buddha statue prayer hall in the southern corner of the Shwedagon pagoda on 29th October, the Full-moon day of Thadingyut under the organizing of the Pagoda Board of Trustees.
At 5:30 a.m, the Pagoda Board of Trustees, religious associations and staff offered alms food to the pagoda, conducted a question-and-answer session marking Abhidhamma day, recited the Dhamma verses and shared Metta to all beings.
The successful completion ceremony was held at 9:00 a.m with the recitation of 3 times of Namotassa. Then, the congregation received the nine precepts from Ovadacariya Sayadaw Bhaddanta Sirindavhivamsa.
Member of Shwedagon Pagoda Board of Trustees U Boe Thin supplicated regarding with the appreciation of the successful completion of offering alms food to the Members of Sangha.
And, Yangon Region Chief Minister U Soe Thein, Region Government Ministers, members of the Pagoda Board of Trustees, and well-wishers offered offertories to the Members of Sangha.
Then, the Chief Minister and congregation took to the religious sermons delivered by Ovadacariya Sayadaw, Presiding Nayaka Sayadaw of Shwepyitha Priyati Sarthintaik, shared the merits gained and concluded the ceremony.
